The Unit carries out translational research in the field of Genodermatosis and other genetic diseases with skin involvement, in particular rare vascular malformations.

Research focuses on the study of pathogenetic mechanisms, molecular determinants and genotype-phenotype correlations. The aim is to improve knowledge on the etiopathogenesis and natural history of these diseases and to identify new diagnostic markers and therapeutic targets.

The research activity is also aimed at developing quality of life assessment tools and diagnostic-therapeutic guidelines.
