Foundation “Bambino Gesù ONLUS”

About

The Foundation, established in 1996 by Pope Giovanni Paolo II with the name “Dear Children”, assumed its current name of “Bambino Gesù” in 2000, with the aim of supporting the development objectives of the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital, founded in 1869 and today Institute of Hospitalization and Care of a Scientific Character (I.R.C.C.S.), national and international point of reference for the health of children and young people from all over Italy and abroad.

The Foundation, based in the Vatican City State, has implemented its operations in Italy through the establishment of a secondary office which has allowed it to pursue its statutory purposes for the support of humanitarian initiatives in support of the assistance and research carried out by the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital and aid to children in need of hospital assistance who do not benefit from the National Health Service.

With the establishment of the secondary office, the Foundation has been registered, since 2008, in the Register of legal entities at the Prefecture of Rome and in the Registry of the ONLUS at the Lazio Regional Directorate. In November 2015, the Foundation was completely renewed in its Board of Directors which approved the new Statute aimed at a transparent functioning of the Entity.
