The research Area of Oncohematology and pharmaceutical Workshop develops new molecular diagnostic approaches aimed at optimizing the characterization and risk stratification of pediatric patients affected by tumor pathologies.

It also researches the innate and T-Cell mediated immune response and develops innovative cell and gene therapy protocols, from the laboratory to the patient’s bed.

In its activities, the Area is also supported by the pharmaceutical Workshop, in which it works on the generation of cell and gene therapy products, which can be configured in the field of advanced therapies (ATMP – Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products).
