Neurological and Neurosurgical Diseases

Head of Research Unit
Federico Vigevano

The Unit carries out translational research, with diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, in reference to epilepsies, headaches, movement disorders, demyelinating diseases and neurological pathologies of the newborn.

The Research Unit team is responsible for integrating advanced imaging systems and augmented reality into surgical planning and the definition of anatomical-functional networks in neurological and neuro-oncological diseases.

Finally, it develops clinical trials dedicated to genetic neurological pathologies with “disease modifying” drugs (which reduce the progression of diseases) and to inflammatory pathologies.

“The dream of Bambino Gesù Hospital,
the dream of the Pope, is to help bring
science and humanity to all children with
very severe diseases who need to be treated”
Pope Francis
