IILA
The Italo-Latin American Institute (IILA) and OPBG have had a fruitful collaboration in the implementation of cooperation initiatives in the pediatric health sector for about 15 years.
It is an intergovernmental body based in Rome, established in 1966, with the name of Italian-Latin American Institute, by the then Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amintore Fanfani, who conceived the IILA as a tool for stimulating and strengthening relations between Italy (Europe) and Latin America. The member states of the Organization are Italy and the 20 Republics of Latin America (Argentina, Plurinational State of Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela). Since 2007, the IILA has been an observer member of the United Nations General Assembly and, since 2018, of the EU-CELAC Ministerial Meetings and, also since 2018, it has been a special guest at the Ibero-American Summits.
