The University-Hospital Pediatric Department (DPUO) is aimed at the integrated development of care, education and research in the pediatric field. The Department represents the Organizational Structure of the Academic Hospital through the School of Pediatrics, including the Chair of Pediatrics, the School of Specialization in Pediatrics, and the Post-graduate School of Higher Education in Pediatric Specialties of Università di Roma Tor Vergata, which have their formal seat in Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital. 

The teaching and research activities are carried out by the care facility, which is divided into 9 Complex Operating Units. The Department thus combines teaching, research, and care activities according to the principles of Systems Medicine, giving life to a translational pediatrics model.
