Bone Physophatology

Head of Research Unit
Andrea Del Fattore

The Research Unit deals with identifying the molecular and cellular mechanisms responsible for rare bone pathologies.

It contributes to characterizing new phenotypes and understanding disease mechanisms, and to developing new diagnostic and prognostic tools for diseases characterized by alterations in bone mass. It also helps to define osteo-immunological alterations in pathologies associated with a reduction in bone mass.

The Research Unit is also involved in studying the mechanisms responsible for the onset of osteosarcoma (a primary bone tumor), developing new therapeutic approaches and analyzing the endocrine aspects of bone tissue.

science and humanity to all children with
very severe diseases who need to be treated”
