Cardiac Diseases

Head of Research Unit
Fabrizio Drago

The Research Unit evaluates the applicability of new methodologies, interventional and non-interventional, in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital muscular defects, acquired heart disease and cardiac rhythm anomalies.

In this regard, the Research Unit applies advanced cardiac imaging techniques in the diagnosis and therapy of pediatric heart patients. It also integrates new imaging techniques with intracardiac electro-anatomical mapping in electrophysiology and cardiostimulation procedures.

The Unit also studies and evaluates new diagnosis and treatment techniques in pediatric patients who require intensive care and cardio-pulmonary transplantation and who use artificial hearts in order to improve the clinical outcomes of those who must undergo these procedures.

the dream of the Pope, is to help bring
science and humanity to all children with
very severe diseases who need to be treated”
